LOCK 11 IN SOUTH BOUND BROOK
Looking downstream from
Lock 11, we can see in the
distance the Queens Bridge,
crossing the Raritan River to
Bound Brook. The bridge's
superstructure is no longer
there.
The locktender's hut is on the
right.
 In 1887 the Standard Paint
Company was built on the site
of an old lumberyard. It
extended along the canal both
upstream and downstream of
the bridge.
 In the early 2000s the
abandoned property was
converted to housing known as
Canal Crossing.
